Disney picks-up where Carnival left off

Carnival cruise lines, who have become notorious for losing passengers overboard, reported Wednesday night just before midnight that a 34-year old male passenger had fallen overboard. That marks the industry leading ninth passenger of 2009 to take the plunge from a Carnival line.

The incident occured about 30 miles off the coast of Florida near Port St. Lucie aboard the Carnival Sensation. The Disney Wonder, who was also in the area, assisted in the search and pulled the exhausted passenger aboard a rescue boat.

Since 2000 Carnival has reportedly lost 38 passengers overboard. Not the sort of record you'll find among their brochures. Ironically their website does feature the headline "Pure water mania! Take the plunge."
